Up the zigzag path

We enjoy the zigzag path that starts near the War Memorial in Applethwaite village. It gently rises through the gorse bushes and brings you out onto the lower slopes of Skiddaw high above the village. There is a fantastic view out across to Derwentwater and the encircling fells. You return to the village by a clear path down to the ghyll and through light woodland.
