On a beautiful “twixmas” day this was the view from the terrace path on the eastern flank of Cat Bells looking across Derwentwater with several wooded islands to the well known outline of Blencathra with the “saddleback” summit and several ridges on the southern face of the fell.
This terrace walk never fails to delight – we like to walk the terrace path then down to Hawse End and back along the lake to the starting point – usually combined with a picnic sat by the side of the lake. Just 2 hours of effort for such fantastic rewards!
