To those who know the Borrowdale Valley well the Chinese bridge will be a very familiar landmark and an iconic feature in the valley.
It is located just beyond the Lodore Hotel and is easily reached by a path from the road. It leads on to the “boardwalk” through the reeds of the marsh area at the foot of the lake – with fantastic views north to the bulk of Skiddaw as the backdrop to Keswick.
The boardwalk leads around to the walk along the lake shore – a favourite walk for many visitors.
