The recent week has brought some snow to Keswick – even to ground level this time! However it does not last long. In 2010 the winter was very severe – Derwentwater froze over which was a magnificent sight to see and quite unreal. Even then the local farmer very quickly opened drove his tractor along the lane up past our house and the two holiday cottages so we have never been snowed in.
This is also the view from the bedroom of Croft Corner – beyond the trees up to the summit of Latrigg which overlooks Keswick and which makes a delightful evening stroll – a good introduction to the fells around the town. We enjoy it in the summer when we can take a picnic and pick out the landmarks in the local area.By Jan on February 8th, 2018
