This is the outlook across Millbeck village – the wooded slopes of Latrigg can be seen on the left. Millbeck is just a small gathering of houses. Millbeck, Applethwaite and Thrushwood are the main ares of population in the Underskiddaw Parish – which has a little under 300 people on the electoral roll. There are not many parishes that can boast having a 3000 foot mountain – Skiddaw – within the parish boundaries!
Latrigg makes a very special evening walk from the Croft House Cottages. You can park at the car park on the shoulder of Skiddaw and then it is an easy walk to the summit at just over 1200 feet. However it is the view out across Lakeland that is the best bit of the walk. We like to take a picnic on a summer evening – just magic!By Jan on May 4th, 2018
