The cairn on Arthur’s Pike – with Ullswater in the distance

On a recent walk a gentle stroll turned into a much longer walk – partly over boggy terrain and tussocky grass which made the walking more arduous. Mutterings were heard from some members of the party bringing up the rear! However the reward on reaching the summit of Arthur’s Pike was a glorious view out over Ullswater.
