There are magnificent Derwentwater and fell views at our four self catering Lake District holiday cottages just over 1 mile from Keswick. All have peaceful settings in the village of Applethwaite. There are fell walks from the door and three restaurants and health spa facilities within walking distance. All the facilities of Keswick are on hand – and there is easy access to many other areas of the Lake District.

Applethwaite nestles at the foot of Skiddaw which rises to over 3000 feet above it. Wainwright’s opinion was that the summit of Skiddaw Little Man was “supreme above all others for it commands the most beautiful and comprehensive view of the Lake District” – that view looks out over Applethwaite and Croft House to Keswick and Derwentwater and the fells beyond.

Each year between 40 and 50% of our bookings are from returning guests. Two of the cottages are suitable for guests with limited mobility – Croft Corner for 2 and Upper House for 6.

We hope that one of our cottages will be of interest to you – please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries about any cottage or the location. If you are coming to the Lakes to celebrate a special occasion we can arrange flowers, celebration cakes and champagne on arrival!
